This steel plays great. It has checking through out the body and about a 4 inch piece of binding missing from one side and 1/2 inch chip of binding missing from the other.
The flat-pole piece OVAL shaped pickups, along with it being a 3 leg model versus 4 legs would indicate late 40's manufacture, almost identical to the 1948 model that Don Helms played on all the classic Hank Williams records. Being a factory double with a seven string neck and an eight string neck (as opposed to a double-8 makes it even more rare / desirable.
$1,195.00 Price negotiable.
Does not include the original case but has a big heavy chest case that came with it.
We can include the case if you desire but it will increase the shipping cost.
If interested please contact us at 850-224-9944

Hey William, even going to Photobucket, there's no good clear shot of the front side of the entire guitar that faces the audience. can you post one?....JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Those are pole piece single coil pickups that are non-adjustable.
The P-90s with adjustable pole pieces and P-90 style construction appeared in Gibson steels about two years later (mid-1950?) with the Royaltone and probably some other steels i cannot remember the name of. _________________ Chris Lucker
