There is a great article about Chuck Levins Washington Music Center, Wheaton, Maryland in the Style Section of today's Washington Post with pictures of the late Chuck Levin, a popular rep, Paul Schein and others. They also sell the Carter Starter among a lot of musical instruments. I knew Chuck with lots of other folks who I'm sure admired the man. Once in a while during a visit, I have heard some fantastic picking. You just never know who will show up. |

I used to live in Laurel and bought several amps there including a Twin Reverb.
I also traded a Fender 2000 on a new 71 Emmons D-10 (black of course) there. I dealt with Chuck's son on the Emmons. They called the factory and then let me talk to them and tell them how I wanted it set up. |

I used to buy all of my equipment from them prior to the ebay/internet era. When I called I always asked for Alan, who I believe was Chuck's son. They let me deal with the factory direct on a Sho-Bud purchase and gave me dealer pricing on a lot of stuff. Nice people!

I bought a Fender Silverface Super Reverb back in the mid 70's. Also bought a nice Gibson ES-335 at the same time. I grew up in DC and Chuck's was the place to go if you wanted quality @ a fair price. |
