Anyone remember Bert Lynn? Evidently he was quite a character, kind of a Roy Smeck type vaudeville performer of the 1930s. He played 'barking dog' sounds, train sounds, etc. on his lap steel... an instrument which he claimed to have invented! It was actually a Rickenbacher with a diamond shaped body that he called his "Vibrolynn". I wonder if there are any recordings of him out there?

First I've ever heard of him, Doug. Looks like a real cheeseball. Love the first pic with the finger pointing!

That's an interesting thread, Mike. Surprising to hear that Burt was still "bragging" about being the inventor of the electric guitar as late as the 1960s. Laughing
