Emmons and "That's The Hawaiian In Me"

On the Flying Fish "Steel Guitar" album, Buddy does a medley which includes "That's The Hawaiian In Me."

Would anyone know if he actually used a non-pedal guitar for that tune? Sure sounds like it...

I think I read somewhere that he played that on lap steel. That medley was a basically tribute to some classic steel players and steel instrumentals. I always assumed that Buddy was paying tribute to Jerry Byrd with "That's the Hawaiian in Me", so playing it on non-pedal would make perfect sense. His arrangement is very close to Jerry's. I always thought that song was the best one on the album (Buddy's album) by far! Cool

I have both Jerry's and Buddy's versions of "That's The Hawaiian In Me".
Of this particular tune, I like Buddy's a little better.
Buddy could be playing it on PSG.
Or, I believe he owns a Fender Custom __ could be this one.

My own arrangement I play in C6th tuning __ Fender Dual Eight Pro.
