The back of the pic says " In Nashville - Paul-- forget his name - fast jazzy player "

This is part of the 'Benny Joyner' collection which I am assembling as part of the www.steelguitardownunder.com project - I have more of these which need accurate identification - watch this space. N.B. the site is now published and there will be some pics of players other than those "downunder"

Thanks Steve - wonder what year that would have been?
That front mike between the steels - was it there to pick up their amps or for the pedal/rod clank Laughing

Jim,I don't know what year it was...maybe Paul or Mike will see this and help us out...I'm thinking mid'70s...there were some mini-conventions held around that time in Nashville...at least one or two maybe...and that looks like the Ramada North,or maybe the old Rodeway Inn...I remember the doors...I can't remember where, haven't been in either place in about 25 years!

Ramada North. Here's Weldon and me playing the same room - those doors, Steve - in 1979 at A Cope McDaniels production.

You guys are doin' well. The picture of Jeff Newman is incorrectly labelled (on the rear of the photo) as Doug Jernigan but I recognised the arm/hand - just like mine from milkin' cows as a kid.

Here's one you won't find another of - BJ, Jimmy Crawford and Scotty in Jimmy's cellar. This pic was in bad shape and I had to do some 'repairs' on it.

This one has me stumped but it's labelled as in Nashville.

I think this is Zane Beck in the cap - do you know any of the others?

Jimmy Day at the Sho-Bud, below that yes, Zane Beck in the ball cap and on the other steel on the left, a young Zane King. I'll let someone else I.D. the supporting musicians/vocalists.

I was there, and I'm pretty sure it was during the 1975 D.J. convention. I was hired by Randall amps to demo their amps at one of the hotels in town that year and someone, I don't remember who told me about the above, shindig, so we drove over to the hotel, possibly Holiday Inn or Ramada. It was an absolutely incredible and unforgettable night. Ben always talked about it as though it was a personal highlight of his. I believe AATW was in the audience too, seems like Floyd Domino played some piano also that night.

Oh, and I believe Larrie Londin is the Drummer. Scotty was there too if memory serves me correctly.

Thanks guys - the replies are amazing.
Brendan - I think you are right but who is it? Love those ex WW2 trousers Whoa!
Frank Rogers - Londin is still my favourite all time drummer - wow I miss him. I'm one of those musos who seldom hears the words just dissects all the instruments and when I first heard him (early 80's) my jaw hit the floor.
Jerry O - I'm really embarassed about this one - Day! of course. I have never seen a pic of Jimmy without a lot of pulled down hat I guess.

I think '74 or '75 is right. That was the short-lived United Steel project that Pete Drake was producing. Larrie London is a good guess but the drummer is Randy Hauser (still miss Randy and Ben so much).

Jim, thanks for posting the pic. Hope you won't mind if I copy it.
