I am looking for an info about the steel guitarist Loyd Baker (real name Lloyd Hazelbaker). His son is the guitar teacher at the music shop where I teach dobro and steel. Lloyd was a Fender steel endorser and appeared in several catalogs around 1954. He performed with Jimmie Revard and the Oklahoma Playboys and recorded with Harry Choates c1950 and others. He was possibly a member of Bob Wills Texas Playboys or one of the other Wills brothers bands, but we are not sure of this. If anyone out there has any knowledge about Lloyd or catalog photos or absolutely anything, it would be greatly appreciated. We think Lloyd was an important figure in steel guitar that has slipped through the cracks and would like to piece together his story. The image below is from page 20 of the 1954 Fender Catalog. This same phot was also used as a full page image opposite Alvino Rey an a different catalog.
