Don't know if this is the right place to post this so change it if you like b0b. Maybe it should be in humor!

Ok I’ll probably regret this but I think it’s funny and am going to expose myself. Hope you enjoy. I got my recently acquired really nice Peavey Vagas 400 amp and sent the chassis to Ken Fox for an intense mod. Got the amp back very quickly from Ken and put it all back together. I had taken the speaker magnet off and cleaned all the foam rubber out, cleaned the voice coil slot out and put it all back together along with new original grille cloth as recommend by Ken also. Cranked it up and wow what a sound until I really cranked it up on the low strings and I heard what I would call a rattle. Not good. So I then hooked one of my Nashville 112’s up and got the same result. Tried a second guitar, same result. So I went upstairs tried out my third guitar and another Nashville 112, same result. Now I’m not the brightest guy around but I wouldn’t call myself stupid either. I finally deducted that the only thing in common with all the equipment I tried was, you ready for this, was my hearing aid. I have what I would call a very expensive state of the art hearing aid and it doesn’t like very loud sounds and crackles/rattles when presented with loud sounds. Turned the hearing aid off and wow what a relief, especially with my tone machine, the modded Peavey Vagas 400 by Ken Fox. I’m an old man and I’m probably not the only steel guitar player who wears a hearing aid. Hope you enjoyed my little scenario……………..clark
