In the mid-seventies I produced a steel guitar show at the Horseshoe Lounge in Muskegon, Michigan. This music has never been released before. Buddy Emmons, Julian Tharpe, Doug Jernigan, Maurice Anderson and Jimmy Bryant. The cd will be titled, 'Head To Head.' It's another one of my promotions that features all four steel players along with Jimmy Bryant on stage going Head To Head in a live setting. Very good picking with all musicians in the groove. Faded Love will be one of the tunes featured. You will get to hear Buddy, Julian, Maurice and Doug, along with Jimmy, doing their own intepretations sitting side by side on the stage. Of all those that I produced with the steel guitars and Jimmy I believe that this is my favorite as far as the pickers really getting in to it. Frank Rogers and Frank Rogers, Jr. brought in their 8 track studio recorder to record the day. So far we have picked the tunes--Faded Love, Ode To Billy Joe, 12 O'clock Mid-Nite and the Horseshoe Blues. More to be added. I think that we will have close to 60 minutes of the session on this cd. This cd should be available by the first of the year. Thanks, Dave A. Burley

For the record. I have been asked that question before. Don't know if the same person asked it but........Too many pickers for a royalty agreement so all pickers were paid a flat fee for their services. 'It's The First Time' was an in studio recording and all the musicians were paid session fee's. All agreed to whatever we did back in those days. Those years cost me a lot of money along with a lot of stress getting all of those great pickers together on the same stage in many different venues. There never was any desire to get rich off of those musicians. Those sessions were all done to help promote the steel guitar and the steel guitar players. I had a dream and still have that dream. The steel guitar is very underrated and I believed at that time and still believe that the great steel players deserved and deserve today more recognition for their great talents. All of the steel players knew what I was trying to do for the steel guitar. Today I just want to get the recordings with those legendary players out there for you all to enjoy. Thanks to all of you that have supported our dreams from the seventies.
