I have been playing on the E9th neck for about a year and a half and was now looking towards starting my journey on the C6th neck. Does anyone have any suggestions/links for a great course/dvd/instructional book for learning the C6th neck? Why does there not seem to be a lot of players that play on the C6th now a days? Thank you in advance for any help. Rick

The Buddy Emmons Basic C6 booklet is a great start, as is the Jeff Newman.
ISTR Herb Steiner has some that are well-regarded, but I've not tried 'em.

Thank you Lane for the advice. I have been looking for the Buddy Emmons C6th book but cannot seem to find a place where I can actually purchase a copy.

I got the Jeff Newman "C6 Workshop" DVD, and I like it a lot. It is kind of designed for new folks like us that have been on E9 for a bit and want to explore that other neck on the guitar.

I'm excited because our band is learning a Lyle Lovett song "Don't Touch My Hat" which is a Texas swing kind of tune, and it's the first one we are playing where I can use the C6 neck. (Even though Paul Franklin is on the original track, and he probably played it on E9. I hate it when he does that!) It's like learning a brand new guitar!

Herb Steiner's booklet of C6th chords is an excellent reference point for those who want to brush up on their chord knowledge. I find it invaluable.
