Note: current cash or trade value at $1600.00 OBO
Acquired in a trade with (coincidentally) a local SGF member. He wanted my amp and I was happy to take the guitar in trade at the time. Unfortunately, I've never developed an affinity for it and have spent more time exploring dobro (and now, lap steel). So it sits in the closet with, apparently, very few total hours on it (he said he got it for a recording project, and it's my understanding that he, like me, hardly touched it). I think it's from around '96, pre-Renaissance Guitar. I'm including a link with a blurb about the guitar. This one, as you'll see, even has formica on the fingerboard. It's really well made and in very good condition. The case has obvious wear (see pic). I can send more pics on request. Looking to trade, or may do partial trade plus cash. Am interested in lap steels, dobros, possibly other instruments--will consider all offers. I understand that we're not to list current list prices, but I presume it's okay to share that info by email.
If a trade occurs, we'll work out a split on a donation to SGF.
thanks--Mike.

That's the coolest thing I've ever seen.
All I have to offer is an unplayed Asher Hawaiian Jr, a minty Recording King lap steel, a weird Peavy Power Slide guitar and a Republic steel reso parlor guitar.

Bill,
thanks, I'm looking more for lap 8 than lap 6 (though I do have one of those weird Power Slides, which I love, and a wooden Republic "resolian" roundneck parlor , which my wife plays).
UPDATE: upon closer inspection, there is some fret wear on the treble string frets, so the original owner did play it some, my mistake. There are a couple of tiny dents on the upper edge of the neck on the 1st string side, hard to notice since everything is so red on this thing. Otherwise, this guitar is in outstanding condition. Presently set up a bit low, but reputed to be a slide player's (a la Duane Allman, not Jerry Byrd) dream. Hipshot trilogy bridge allows quick change from one tuning to another.
I've received some PM asking about a cash price. I was hoping for a trade on a good D8, T8, dobro or such, but would do a cash deal for 50% of current list price (they are taking orders for a small run of Model T's in the fall). If anyone is interested, please send PM and I will give you that figure by PM in accordance with forum guidelines. On a cash deal I alone would make the donation to b0b.
thanks to all who have taken the time to view,
Mike |

First big bump for the guitar that you can serve lunch or snacks on.
Where are our Duane Allman/Johnny Winter slide mongers? |
