And if you were not totally confused by my last two Beginners Notes, here is the E9th neck to the 16th fret showing the scale tones in the key of "D". It is easy to see with this many tones at your disposal, how finding something to play that would fit should be easy. Look at the exercise below, it is taken directly from this tone charted neck diagram.

Just got an email from our forum friend and fellow steeler Ron Funk. He said when he tried to make a copy of the diagram, it did not copy with the correct spacing and/or alignment. I promptly tried it myself, (the original here, I entered directly into the Forum Editor), I got the same results when I pasted it into my Word program. I'm not surprised, but the data was there and with very little manipulation, I was able to get it aligned and usable. We all know, such is the way with most free stuff, as good as it is, or not, we can't really expect to much. I guess the Table Edit program would be useful to do tab. Are they free?
