Several years ago in a state of stupidity, I sold a wonderful 67 p/p d/10. The cash went in mommas household budget and I replaced the Emmons with a mint Fender artist d-10, and then I rarely played the steel. The 3rd string g# sounds shi##y no matter what I try. 10 or 11 , different brands etc. I dont really like the sound of this guitar. It always seems to take on that I'm old and getting weak, gonna snap on ya' sound.I am thinking of messing with pups. Any thoughts fellers? Thanks John |

I mean the string always has that crappy sound they get right before they break, and these are new. I just cant get a good sound from that 3rd string. I have never liked it much on any guitar and hate it on this fender. I guess I need to woodshed on c6, cause it never has that tinny, ice pick sound I hear on g# e9 when I play it. I get by with it if I dont dwell on it. |

Try a 12?
Other pickups might help, I'd try a ToneAligner _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |
