On tuesday at 7:00 I'm playing with In The Country. They are a great batch of musicians.
Where: The Norwegian Seamen’s Church, 317 East 52nd Street , NYC
When: Tuesday, February 7th, at 7 p.m
Info: (212)319-0370
There might be a $5 cover if there is a charge at all.
It would be great if any of the NYC steel guitar mafia could make it.
thanks,

Ahoy matey,
Yer old shipmate, HowardR here.
Ye post is read & understood, and ye concert sounds interesting. I am happy to tell ye, that HowardR looks forward to seeing ye & me old Norwegian shipmates from the faraway lands of the fjords.
Am I allowed to bring me trusty parrot, b0b'Lad with me? I cannot leave him home ye see. Last time I left b0b'Lad home, he got the willies and swallowed HowardR's favorite thumb pick. I had to feed b0b'Lad cod liver oil fer three days straight to finally squeeze the pick out o' him. Twas a stinkin' mess if HowardR says so h'mself!
Look forward to seein' ye tomorrow.
Man overboard!

Until what time do you think you will play? I'll try, but that is a little tight for me.

Rehearsal went very well today. It looks like the hall is not charging for the show. This one is some sort of Norwegian cultural event.

Well, a delightful evening it was.
The music was very interesting. Not quite jazz, not quite new age, not quite sure how I would classify it. I am quite sure that I enjoyed it.
Each musician was nicely acomplished and Bob fit in very well, as he always does, in every genre of music that he finds himself in.
The Norwegian Seaman's Church is a wonderfully modern building and house of worship that includes a basement art gallery. Upstairs of the Church were hallways lined with paintings & photos of kings and pastors.
Both the Church and the music were highly inspirational. So much so, that I have decided to convert.
Yes, there comes a time when we realize that we must choose the path intended for us. The time to accept your inner most convictions, and embrace them despite what others may think or say.
I have made my decision to convert. Yes, I am going to become......Norwegian....
sorry Steinar, there goes the neighborhood [This message was edited by HowardR on 08 February 2006 at 06:10 PM.] |

Bob,
Is this the only gig you`re playing with them?
I see that In the Country are playing here: "16.04.05 - Norway, Bergen, Kvarteret (Ståoppjazz)"
This is only a three minutes drive from my house.

Ah, but alas, Dag, it's over an hour's drive from Brooklyn. And the traffic!
Good report, Howard--I was wondering how this went.
Mmmm. Kippers.
