ok guys I ask about the older gibson the other day, now I need to know the ohms for the older fender 400 pickups. I plan on getting me a 400 fender sound for my front neck and a Gibson console for my back _________________ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvuH7H8BajODaL_wy3_HSJQ |

I think mine was about 8.5K plus or minus. I figured it must have had about 9000 or 10000 turns in it.
There's a fair amount of variation in those old ones, I've heard. |

My last single coil 400 (#00183 silver frame) had a 7.47k pickup.
My latest 400 came with a stacked pickup. The two coils are about 9.7k and the bottom coil alone is 4.8k. Jason Lollar recreated the pickup for me because the original was a warped mess and I could not straighten it out enough to rewind it and I needed a new cover for it. He has the specs. The change in the wiring is to add an ON-ON switch in the center of the endplate where the hand grip is located. Bot hots go to the switch, one of them is selected and returns to the pot just as a normal single coil would. _________________ Chris Lucker
