It was Randy Beavers, and I was wondering what he was playing too.

Yes I seen that show this morning(Sunday) here in North Carolina.I said to my wife who is on the Steel Guitar and she said Marty Stuart Steel player and I said no it is'nt that is Randy Beavers.I have seen Randy a few time and Anna and I sat with him in Norwalk CT. for lunch at the Doubletree hotel where Bob has the PSGA show every year about 4 years ago.Randy is a out standing Steel guitar Player and has worked real hard to get to where he is.Great job Randy keep up the good work.

There ought to be a law that the steel guitar is center stage at all times and is in constant view so you can see them at all times and you would not have to guess at those short glimpses that the editors use most of the time.

Lyle you are right. I think when the singer takes the break they should put the camera on the steel player as he is going to take the break. The dumbo that operates the camera does not know what he is doing and does not know how to operate the camera correctly.Either that he does not know what Instrument is playing or what a Steel Guitar is.I see this all the time and I yell at them put the camera on the Steel player and my wife say's they can't hear you.She is right but they really get me up set.I like to reach in the TV and pull them out and tell them how to do their job.

Usually the Marty Stuart show has some pretty good producers or editors. The best production in the world is The Country Family Reunion Show. Good levels at all times and they know when to cut to Mike Johnson or Jimmy Capps or Hank Singer or Les Singer. Mike like Gary Carter sets in the middle. I would mention the drummer or the bass and keyboard players but I don't know their names.

I so agree with Lyle...A while back there was a show with Blake Shelton on TV and he had a steel player on his set...My friend text me and said turn to the show on quick because the steel was out front on his set..Turned to the steel and sure enough it was out front but you couldnt even hear it in the mix....

I put the steel out front on my CD..No I dont play the steel but I sure have a love for it and its the main instrument on all of my music..

Told my producer if it wasnt out front in my music he was gonna be fired..LOL...

HATS OFF TO ALL OF YOU STEEL PLAYERS!!!

Samuel
usually thereis more than one camera for different angles and to catch the varios players, sounds like the producer wasn't doning there job.
