Topic: Tune of the Month November? |

I'd be interested in considering another tune this month if others want to. Perhaps holiday songs for this month and next? (I'd argue there are some great ones.)
I like White Christmas or Mike Neer has Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas tabbed out in his blog from a year or two ago. (It's challenging but it's fun.)
Just suggestions. Other ideas? I know life gets busy (I'm a dad) but things like this help motivate me to keep learning new material a priority too! No sin in setting out a session either. |

I was thinking this exact same thing just a couple days ago -- that the "Tune of the Month" for November / December could be ANY CHRISTMAS SONG YOU CHOOSE.
Personally, I would LOVE for someone to come up with a Leavitt arrangement of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

Great! I'm working on my one lap steel arrangement for "Christmas song" by the Chipmunks, hope to get it done by the end of the month.

Ok, here is my arrangement of "Christmas song" by Alvin and the Chipmunks :

The tuning is A7/C6 on a 8-strings and I play in the key of F so I can use open strings. At the end, I use only natural harmonics.
I'm not sure I like it so please tell me what you think about it.

i'm gonna slide in for this one - i havent touched the steel since june (gasp!) due to all the other musical projects i had going on eating up my steel fun - i found out, as jerry byrd said, the steel is not a part time instrument!
i'll be rusty but hoping to get it kicked in again...

OK then, here is a classic Christmas song from Alabama, Christmas in Dixie. This is my first ever Christmas song on steel guitar since I started playing on May 20th. Thanks for letting me join in the fun!

Mr Hofer, I like your version of that famus song. Have made a BIAB trck with Baise style. Kansas City is know for Big Band area in last millenium.
