I've just learned from a SGForumite in Southern Calif. that Ethel Starr and "Take it Away Leon" McAuliff........
each had a BIGSBY Quad........
Can any of you with your vast arsenals of photographic memorbilia come up with photo evidence that these two individuals ever had a BIGSBY quad?
Might you have any other information that could be relied upon and viewed as indisputable fact? |

Crowbear, not that you can tell from the photo of a two neck guitar you posted, but that Ethel Starr Bigsby has:
chopped and welded endplates;
a four button neck selector switch;
a non-original rear apron;
necks numbered 3 where 1 should be and 1 where 2 should be;
A quad case that has wear from carrying a quad.
Take it Away Leon had a short life as a quad. The guitar still has a #4 neck and four neck selector switches, but is a triple. The original guitar date is 32449 and the guitar was rebuilt by Bigsby in February 1954.
In addition to these two quads, Ray's quad, and the quad Paul Warnik has, there were two others. _________________ Chris Lucker

I have the same picture, but I'm not aware that it's a quad. |

It is no longer a quad in that photo. It is as described above. _________________ Chris Lucker
