Where should I put my Matchbox for pedal steel? Should it come after or before the overdrive and distortion pedals and volume pedal. Thanks

It goes right after the guitar... that's what it's for, to buffer the pickup. IIRC, it also has an adjustable load for the pickup... makes no sense to use it if it's not right at the guitar. Use a short cord to connect it, too. Allows to adjust pickup loading (cure the 'too bright' pickup sound) and buffers the signal before a pot-style volume pedal (cures 'tone-suck', loss of treble across the resistor). After this buffer you can run long guitar cords without losing tone.
