1964 D18. Recent neck reset by Jack Dillen in Asheville NC. Has a nice tall compensated saddle. Jack also refinished the back of the neck, that's all, from the bottom of the headstock to the heel. No other finish work. The good news is it looks great. Set up well with that loud, bright mahogany tone. It's a real bluegrass guitar. Think busting out Jimmy Martin runs capo'd in B.
It looks really clean from across a room, but at arm's length it's got a fair amount of scratches, dings, buckle rash on the back and a few odd spots of wear where the finish is gone. Has a few places on the back where the finish reacted to a strap. Has the common "B string" pickguard crack, other than that it's crack free. Has one oddball tuner bushing too. The good thing about it is in '64 you still get the tortoise shell binding, a long saddle, the tortoise shell pickguard and a small maple bridge plate. It's set up well, sounds great and it's a great bluegrass guitar. Would prefer to meet up if possible. Would drive some distance possibly. $3400 Located in eastern, Kentucky.
