Just got my new Hilton pedal 2 weeks ago and I love it. Only problem is when I back off fast it squeaks real loud. It's driving my Jack Russell crazy. I oiled the outide bolts but wasn't sure if taking it apart was a good idea. Any help?

Doug, thanks for buying my pedal. Take it apart, you will not hurt anything. Taking it apart is real simple, just unscrew the two hinge bushings, and separate top from bottom by pulling. Just remember how the hinge bushings go back on as they have O rings on them. Also, just barely tighten the hinge bushings when you put it back together.
The noise you hear is probably coming from the clutch system, as it is the only moving thing inside the pedal. The clutch system consists of only two things, a spring and a piece of plastic. So finding the noise should be easy with two parts in plain view. The noise may come from around where the plastic piece attaches to the side of the pedal. Or it could come from the spring, attached to the plastic piece touching the bottom of the pedal. The noise could also come from where the clutch rubs on the top of the pedal. A extremely slight bit of oil, or a very small amount of grease will cure the problem. We have not had that many problems with mechanical noise. Anything that moves can make a noise where you least expect it. Let me know if you get it fixed?

Worked like a charm Keith. It was the bolt attached to the plastic rib. My dog is happy too!
