I saw one of these on Craigslist for a good price. Has anyone played through one of these, and what is your opinion on it? |

Michael...I recently acquired a Jazz King and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite amps. Very similar to the Steel King with the exception of having the 8 ohm Eminence speaker installed which lowers the output to 140 watts...FYI: There were quality control issues with the Jazz King/Steel King models leading some owners to experience reliability problems, so it may be advisable to check it thoroughly before purchase. |

I own a Steel King and love it!!! Emi makes the JBL clone that was in the Steel King and sells it under the Commonwealth line.Put one in your amp and listen to a great amp - speaker pairing. |

I have a Jazz King and a Steel King. At low volumes, I can't hear a difference. That's just my ears, and I don't know about headroom at high volumes. The EQ tilt may be able to compensate for any difference in speaker tone and power.
They both are clean, and thus have potential for use with other instruments (dobro etc)
The knobs can get static-ky, I find
