Ladi Geisler died in November last year. He played bass and guitar for Bert Kaempfert's orchestra. Here he plays a Kaempfert composition with his trio:

Joachim, that was a very nice rendition of L.O.V.E. I didn't realize it was a Kaempfert composition, the only thing of his I was familiar with was "Wonderland By Night" which was a monster hit here in the USA. I always thought LOVE was an American composition. Does BK has any other tunes we'd be familiar with?..........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Jerry, he wrote "Spanish Eyes" and "Strangers In The Night". I've been exposed to his music in the sixties, when my parents watched the saturday night programm on TV, there were only two channels back than.
But I have to admit that I mostly retreated to my room listening to the Yardbirds or whatever instead.
I like the stripped down arrangement of Ladi's version very much.
Thanks for your reply. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |
