The first clip is played on an Acoustic Steel in a
diatonic tuning. Note the dry timbre as per an archtop sound. Followed by Eight string Lap Steel with C6th set up and Low F on the bottom.

Very beautiful in Nova Scotia this time of year
and this song really fits. Also Thanksgiving weekend for us here in Canada!!!!

Regards to all.

Roy.........you've outdone yourself.

Truly a beautiful performance.........and such a delicate touch on those full chord rolls.

Very enjoyable.

Hi Roy

I enjoyed both renditions Of "Autumn Leaves", but the 8 string electric steel version is my favorite. Cool

We are having extended summer like weather here in the Puget Sound area, sunny & mid 60s---low 70s. It's a bit unusual for us, since we normally have rain by now. Surprised

Beautiful playing, Roy, as always! Smile I especially like the sounds of the diatonic tuning.

What exactly is your diatonic tuning? I heard recently that Jerry Byrd used it but I don't remember where.

Thanks fellas for listening and the nice comments!

Dan, the tuning is not the Jerry Byrd Diatonic. Here it is high to low: E-C#-B-A-G#-G-F#-F-E-C# more commonly referred to as the Alkire tuning.
