Dear Steelers & Forumites.
I joined this forum just to yell you this myself:
I am SO HAPPY to tell you, that YOU JUST GOT YOURSELVES A SONG!
It's written for you, meant as a tribute, to you all and to your great community on the Forum. The song is called 'STEELERS OF THE WORLD'....it's ABOUT YOU and it's FOR YOU....in recognition of all that you do to keep Country Music alive, and to help each other cross all boarders, around the world! That is truly amazing and fantastic, and I admire that a lot! So....it's MEANT AS A TRIBUTE, but with 'a twinkle in the eye',... about my observations on you guys in 'the cult or clan'. Being married to a steeler, I have met quite a few from 'your clan' and found, that there seems to be a 'kind of pattern' that, (in my humble eyes), seems to fit to a lot of you! Love y'all for that!!!! :-)
I wrote to you in August, via b0b, to thank you all, for helping me getting connected with Mike Headrick and his great Mikron studio, about a year go. At that time it was just supposed to be a 'once in a lifetime experience' to go to a professional studio in Nashville and get a couple of songs recorded, - just for the fun of it, and for my own pleasure! But now I have 'ended up' making a whole CD, which has just been released, - and I have actually been on the WorldWide 'Most Played Country Mainstream Artist Charts' 4 times + on the Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Australian charts too....in just three months, because of just one song (the first: called 'It's Buying Time Again') that Mike / Country Discovery Records put on their Summer 2005 Compilation CD! Now DJs around the world has started to also playing all of my new songs that I just sent out, too, - including my tribute song for you! So you may hear it on your local Country Radio Station or at some of the Internet stations (Country Bear and PalTalk), or you may hear two minute samples on: http://cdbaby.com/cd/ullalindstroem - I hope you will like what you hear!
I am SOOOO proud! And somehow it all comes back to you and the Forum! So THANK YOU!
Well I bet you wouldn't call what I do for Country? From what I read on your Forum, it seems there is no clear definition as to what that is. So you may call it anything you like, (except bad please!), - some of it is even more swing than Country. But it IS recorded with, and produced by Mike Headrick and his fantastic Mikron Studio team, so it has got a 'Country flavour', I think....Well...you be the judges of that, if you ever hear it.
Anyway: If you like, you can read more about my story, on my homepage and on CD-Baby (with samples too). I will be real happy to hear from you, so feel very welcome to comment, write me, either here on the Forum, in my Guestbook or by mail. Any comments (except bad ones), will be great! )
So keep up your good work & network! Or should I say 'Heart Work'! :-)
BIG SMILES & THANKS to you all, from a steelers wife

Hi Ulla,
I love your CD! What a beautiful voice you have!!!
I'm a steeler's wife, and funny how it's Buying Time Again for my steeler husband - a new Zum! It comes around every two or three years.
Congratulations on the project - and I certainly wish you the very best!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for all your sweet replys, compliments and good wishes! Coming from you guys it means A LOT to me, and makes me so happy!
Johnny....I hope you finally got the song 'out of your head'!? :-)
George...so glad you could hear me smiling on the track!...I did you know! (wondering how you all would like it + I find the song a bit funny myself!) :-)
Rudy...I'm a fan of yours too, as I hope you heard! :-)
Donna...You're right!...I think the 'Buying Time Again' song goes for all musicians, - they always 'need just another guitar' or something.
At the end of that song, you will hear me sighing: "Oh Lord....we need a bigger house!" :-)
Once again, my warmest thanks for taking the time to listen and respond! So great hearing from you! Much appreciated!
BIIIIG happy smiles from

Well my friend, Ulla. Happy you finally got the song on your website for everyone here to listen to. I've been awaiting this annoucement!
I sure hope everyone goes to Ulla's website listed above (in her post)and leaves a message in the guestbook....we should all be encouraging a steelers wife! She wrote this song for US, and I have a copy of the whole CD, and it's great. I mentioned in a previous post that she talks about our Forum TWICE in her liner notes of the CD...so c'mon members, lets give her our full support, she certainly is giving her support to us.
Best of luck with the CD, Ulla.

Great job. I love evrything about the cd. Every song is crafted to perfection and your super voice is perfect for each song. You sound a lot like a girl I used to play with, and she is a great entertainer. Thanks Larry

Hej Ulla !
Congratulations on your CD project ! It sounds like it's been a true labour-of-love thing for you and your pride in it is evident, as it should be ! From what I've heard in these sound clips, you have every reason to be proud ! Well done !
I'll need to buy one and I guess we can persuade Uwe to deliver it ? (Editorial note : Ulla's husband's desk and mine are about 200 feet apart at work !)

Hi Ole,
It will be my pleasure to deliver the CD to you.
I am also happy you like it. I know I do.
Well, the chance of two steelers being in the same company in Denmark is about the same as winning the lottery.
I`ll bring one tomorrow.
See you there.

Hi Uwe,
It was a pleasure talkin' to you today as always and thanks for bringing the CD ! I'm listening to it as I write this and it's really a pleasure to listen to ! And I certainly agree about the strange fact that we - two steelers in Denmark - have wound up working 200 feet apart !
Ulla : The more I listen to your album, the more I realize that there's a lot in your vioce that reminds me of Karen Carpenter - one of the best voices ever in pop/country, in my very humble opinion ! You've done a great job indeed !!
All the best
Ole

Oh BOY!!!....WOW!!....I DO love steelers!!!!...even more now! )
I never expected to get THIS kind of fantastic feedback from you! I am deeply touched with all those BIG compliments and good wishes from you all and I feel very humble about it, ....and I'm SO proud!
From my CD-Baby-site I can tell, that even (a lot) more from the Forum, has been visiting, that makes me so glad! I hope you liked what you heard! Bless you all!
Joy...my friend, once again...thanks for your great support and for cheering on me!
Larry...WOW!..SO glad you like it THAT much, - and say so too! Comparring me to a great performer you know, that is so cool (great!). Thanks!
Ole...I'm so honoured that you even bought my CD! Comparring me to Karen Carpenter!...she is one of my all time favourites too you know, so that is one of the greatest compliments you could give me! (You are the second person in the last days who did that!). I'm so happy you like the CD! Some say, it gets better for each time you hear it, - i hope you will think so too. You're so right, it IS a 'labour of love-thing'...glad you can tell! It has been my best experience ever! I was amazed that you knew (must have read!) that I was Uwes wife! Uwe has told me about you, but I don't think he told you about me and my project!?
Geir...thanks,...we love Norway! We have been there several times, and will come back some day, that's for sure! Thanks for the link!
Brett...SO glad you like the steelers-song! Keep on steeling. The world needs steelers! )
My warmest thanks and BIG smiles to you all!

Ulla,
You're welcome and yes : I DO like your CD even better for each time I hear it ! It was great the first time I heard it and it just keeps getting better !
Comparing you to Karen Carpenter came naturally, 'cause you just have that same kind of phrasing and feeling that she had and your voice is obviously capable of producing that same deep, full sound that she had. I didn't know that she was one of your favorites of course, but it just shines through !
No Uwe hasn't told me about this project, we have only spoken briefly once, but I have my way of knowing things in the (VERY) small Danish world of music
I hope you'll have a lot of success with this CD - you certainly deserve it !
All the best

WOW....I shall have to print out this communication, to keep it and treasure it forever! I'm SO glad I posted the info! Bless you all! )
Thanks again dear Ole! You couldn't have said anything that would make me more happy and proud! I'm not trying to copy Karen, but I love the wonderful comparrison and that you like it even better the second time. Small world...the Danish music business....yeah...but I am just learning! Keep up your great music work too!
Mike, my dear....THANK YOU for your big compliments and for everything! Without you, the result and the experience would never have been nearly as great as it was and is.
And b0b...thank youuuu...for taking the time to listen and for your kind comments....AND for taking care of the Forum! I admire that a lot, - as I hope you heard.
I wish everybody on the the Forum a very Merry Christmas and the happiest New Year of all, - with your friends and family!
May all your dreams come true too!
Keep up your great steelin' & Country work! )
