My daughter and I saw George in concert in the early 90's. I hope to see him again before he retires. 59 #1's what an AMAZING Legacy for a legend!!!!
I own almost all of his cd's and as long as he records I'll continue to buy his music.
I wish him the very best in retirement and he truly is "King George"! |

Theresa: I've seen George about 5 times over the years and have to say he gives an extremely professional concert rivaled only by Alison Krauss and Union Station. Absolutely no time wasted tuning instruments or talking to the audience, no cheesy special effects, just one song after another from a totally professional singer and backup band. Music the way it should be |

I saw George in concert in March of 1999 back when he was still doin' his George Strait Music Festivals. This was the year I started playin' steel. He put on a great show. Two of his number one hits were written by my favorite songwriter Roger Cook, whose daughter Katie is a friend of mine. George's show featured a lot of great steel guitar. In addition to Mike Daily with George, there were steel players with the other artists. George was playin' in Clemson, SC at the time-What a great show! |

Have been a big fan of George and respect his decision, he has earned it and he is a class act.
Me and my wife finally saw him in NJ which he rarely plays about three years ago, and it was one of the best shows we've ever seen, like the above posters described.
He seems to live the life he sings about and I wish him the best, hopefully he will still record and do records, his son has written some great songs with him and I hope they continue, but if not he has left us a catalog that very few can match, George is 'Pure Country' _________________ Regards, Craig

Add me to the list of big fans who appreciate what George Strait has accomplished. I think he's smart to scale back the travels and basically do what he wants to do. _________________ HagFan
