Did a little spring cleaning and finally got all my steels together in one place, so I figured I'd take a pic. Not much of a "collection" compared to some I've seen on here, but I like 'em.
On wall, left to right: Blue Star Lapmaster 8 string, home made 10 string, Rogue Jersey Lightning, Morrell MLS-6, Melobar LS
On floor: 1991 Remington Steelmaster double 8, my little Fender amp, Sierra 8 string _________________ Some songs I've written |

I'd say that is a sweet collection and certainly covers a wide variety. I'd be proud to have them. |

Didn't you have a Canopus at one time?
Nice collection, what's the Blue star like? I keep wanting to get down to Elderly and try one out. _________________ "Don't be mad honey, but I bought another one" |

Sold the Canopus here on the forum back in February to fund the purchase of the Remington Double.
The Blue Star is OK, nothing stellar. It was my first 8 stringer. Got it on ebay (pretty cheap) as an inexpensive way to see if I'd like playing 8 strings. The pickup looks like a bass pickup, and it's got a deeper, mellower tone with less bite and twang than the Morrell or Melobar. _________________ Some songs I've written |

I'd forgotten about this video clip. I was going through my Youtube videos today and came across it.

You have more than twice as many as I do. I used to really enjoy having a lot of them around. Variety is the spice of life. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Nice little collection of steels.
Which Fender amp is that? Tube or SS? Pros or cons on the amp?
Which is your favorite or go-to steel of the lot? |

The amp is a Champion 110 solid state. I "inherited" it when my uncle passed away in May of 2011. It sounds OK for what it is. I used it in a small church this past Sunday and it sounded good.
My "Go To" steels for practice would be the Melobar 6 string (C6 or C6/A7) and the Blue Star 8 string (A6). For playing in public, it's the Sierra or Remington.
The two consoles stay boxed up most of the time now to save room. I don't really care for the "feel" of the Morrell, haven't quite gotten the hang of the 10-string, and on the RJL, I don't really like having a knob on the player side -- kind of gets in my way. _________________ Some songs I've written |
