This is Smiley Davis from Oregon living here in Mesa with his Son-In-Law.

Smiley is 84 years old and has played pedal steel for most of his adult life.

I built this (D-10 8x5 Emmons set up) for him July 1st. 2011, five months later Smiley had a stroke and most recently a heart problem has came up.
Smiley is unable to play or even try now.
He ask the Son-In-Law to bring the guitar over today for me to sell for him, sad day for sure.

This guitar has maybe??? 8 to 10 hours on it. It has been set up and under cover for the past 14 months.
Although this guitar and case are in "Mint" condition, Smiley knows he will have to take a loss.
His loss is your gain.
he ask that I sell it for $3700.00 plus actual shipping from 85208 Thanks for looking.

If your looking for a professional grade steel guitar there are none better than the Justice. Especially the Judge. The reason Fred named it the Judge is because it's the one all the others are Judged by!! Very Happy One of the best I have ever played. If you have never tried one you should. This is a great investment if you want a great steel guitar. No better than Fred to work with also. Smiley I'm so sorry you have to sell it. It's a beauty!! I wish you the best!! I have enjoyed mine for about the past 5 months!

Fred had this guitar set up in his room last summer at the steel show in Branson. This guitar played very smooth and the tone was incredible. Whoever buys this guitar will definately not be disappointed. A super buy for a super guitar.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments and for keeping this close to the top.

I had a local man come and checked it out today, we'll see what happens.

I sat down and tuned it up and 40 minutes later I finally got up from it. Its hard to walk away from. Like Dean said, this guitar is so smooth it almost plays its self.

Smiley is a good man and I bought a 2002 Carter from him in 2005 and it's been my favorite guitar to play ever since. So sad to hear about his health issues. I'd love to have that instrument but I've got enough guitars around here. Tell Smiley I said Hey and hope he's feeling better soon.

I am sure that will soon get snapped up.

Best wishes to Smiley, its a shame he had to give it up under those circumstances.

Friends Smiley's Son-In-Law called me this morning and Smiley has passed.
My condolences to the family.

The price of Smiley's prized Justice D-10 has been lowered to $3600.00 and the family will pay up to $50.00 toward shipping.

Remember folks, this guitar has less than 8 hours on it, TOTAL. A tremendous bargain for a D-10 player with 8x5.

Fred

So sorry to hear of Smileys passing...
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Folks, I have played Smileys guitar up at Freds place and I have to say.. It is virtually brand new and I it the finest, most precise instrument I have ever played.

Having played Emmons PPs for 35 years and several modern top brands I rank this as the most responsive guitar I have played.
