Ken Emerson is an extremely talented guitarist. He and his brother Phil grew up in Hawaii and he really has that old Hawaiian sound down.
Here's Ken playing "Kaneohe Hula" from the same show.

I'm pretty lucky to have Phil living up my way. He's in Bellingham, WA now.

Does anyone know who wrote The Hotel Street Blues? Sounds real old-timey.
I recently got a copy of "Ken and Bob," the CD from GrassSkirt Records with Robert Armstrong. If you like that sound, its a winner. Very Happy

From the liner notes of his CD "Slack and Steel":
Hotel Street Blues (Ken Emerson) - Written for Ken’s grandfather, Ray Emerson, who told stories of riding streetcars in downtown Honolulu in 1915. The song’s tempo reflects a leisurely ride on a horse-drawn streetcar with the steel doing an appropriate horse whinny.
