I just recently bought a Nashville 1000 it sounds great. How can I check and see if it has been modded. Thanks |

Mike,
I'd unplug my 1000, take a really good flash light and look in the top vent. If you can't see the chips(1/2 in square 8 leg buggers), pull the top vent off. the Number you are looking for is 2134... If one was changed, they all most likely were. This will save you removing the chassis. Not that that is any big deal, but if you haven't before. Well you know. If the chips haven't been changed, Ken Fox can hook you up, he did me, on my first one. And he sends instructions on how to do it. |

The newer (current) mod is the OPA2134PA op amps. The original mod used OPA2604PA op amps.
I recommend the OPA2134PA chips. I upgraded the NV1000 is used to have an made a big difference.
As noted Ken Fox sells the mod kits.

Thanks Dick for the suggestion. I tried it but even with a good flashlight these eyes couldn't see in there so I pulled the chassis and they were the 2604's.
Jack thanks for the link to Ken, I ordered a set of 2134's. I appreciate your advice and help. Only on the forum could we have such a great great group of steelers with some great advise. |

You'll like the 2134's. My impression upon installing them in my NV1000 was that it made it sound sweet like the NV112. |
