I have removed dozens of Peavey chassis' for service, but today was a new hitch that baffled me for a while. I removed the long top screws and the 3 wood screws on the back lip, but the chassis would not budge. Surely, something else must be stopping it but I couldn't see anything else. Turns out the back lip was seized all along to the vinyl covering and after running a putty knife along the edge, it came right out. The only thing I can figure is, unlike the Sessions and other models, the NV 112 chassis is painted and there must have been some sort of chemical bonding between the paint and the vinyl. Anyone else had this problem?

Clyde, in a dozen or so for chip mods, I've had two. Thought it was over spray from the vinyl install. Both stuck at the back top of the chassis. I did the same thing you did, then they came right out.

Clyde, I couldn't get mine out and gave up, afraid to damage anything. I bought the chip update about five years ago, and it's still in my spares box unused. Rolling Eyes

I had the same issue with the chassis sticking but used a screw driver to free it. A good tip is turn the amp on it's side so the the chassis doesn't drop into the speaker when it's removed
I actually changed back to the original chips as I thought the replacements removed some of the "sparkle" from the tone

Heat on the vinyl, whether just heat or heat from the metal amp chassis, can make it stick. I've had that problem with many amps, as I used to work as an amp tech.
