Just a quick question. Does there tend to be a price difference between the 3 scale lengths of Fender Stringmasters, all other things being equal?
If so, is it a function of rarity or desirability/playability? |

I don't really know if there is any price difference between the different scale length models.
However, the long scale (26") ones are older and that might tend to jack up the price somewhat.
Some steelers like the shorter length models as they seem to think that slants are easier with the shorter scales.
I never had any trouble with slants on my T-8 long scale Stringmaster and I always felt that the longer the scale, the longer the sustain.
Your mileage may vary. |

I have a long scale D8 Stringmaster and a short scale S8 Deluxe, which is, in essence, a Stringmaster. I play them both, most often the D8, and I like them both. The S8 is sure easier to haul around. I use it when I'm backing a Hulau, mostly, when I know they won't like the sound of the B11 neck. - Jack |

I think the 26" scale on the Stringmaster usually is found on the older guitars that do not have the blender pot. The blender is a big plus for me. I've noticed that guitars with them sell for a tad bit more. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |
