The Pine Mountain Jamboree in Eureka Springs, Arkansas played it's final performance after a 31 years run Saturday night December 3, 2005. A new show is scheduled to go into the Pine Mountain Jamboree theater in March of 2006. I wish them the best of luck. I'll miss pickin' and grinnin' for all the lovely folks who attended the show in the past. Hope me meet sometime and I'm able to entertain you again. Thanks to the owners Dave and Dee Drennon and all the cast and crew for a super time. I had a ball the twenty-three years I was with the show. Viva la Pine Mountain Jamboree.

I believe that should have read, "hope WE meet again sometime", rather than "hope ME meet again sometime". Hands are quicker than brain. So sorry.

Michael,

I surely hate to hear that. I always enjoyed that show and looked forward to being there every time I could.

We'll miss you.

Michael, I am sorry to hear this also. I did not realize you were playing that show. However, since you were there so long you might remember a young fiddle player, Todd Cook, who played on a show I was playing in Ft Smith in the 80's. He was
maybe 12 years old or so and later I heard he was playing the Pine Mountian show. Then I heard he had to quit playing because of some kind of ear problem. Do you remember him or know anything about where he is now?

Jerry, I'm sorry, but we never had a fiddler named Todd Cook at the Jamboree unless he was with the show back in the seventies at the very beginning. I came on in 1983. The fiddlers we had on the show from 1983 til the present were Frank Ellis, Lisa Ray, Donnie Wright, Trent Crissup, George and Becky Giddons, and Jimmie Giles. BTW thanks so much to all of you for the kind words about the show.I'm glad you enjoyed it. We had a blast putting it on, and enjoyed it as much, if not more than the audience did. It's an experience that won't be easily forgotten.
Further down the road,
Michael

Michael, I saw the Jamboree many times. Sorry to hear it is closing. If my memory serves me correctly, you played lead guitar, banjo and cajun squeeze box. Best of luck. I am sure you will be playing somewhere soon. Thanks for all the years I attended and enjoyed the show.

James

James, I wish I had known you were there. I always like to talk to steel people. I was practicing to play steel on next year's Jamboree show. Well, it looks like that ain't gonna happen. But, I still plan on learning this beast and playing with a group someday. I can tell it's going to be a lifetime love affair. Hope to see you at a steel show sometime. Thanks for the kind words. Hey Michael, I talked with you several times. The first time was back when you did acoustic shows at the Pine Mountain Village. You were playing a Peavey T60 on the show then. I remember I had brought a youth group from Texas and the audience that night was really unresponsive. You guys did Boogie Back to Texas and those teenagers came alive. During our conversation, you made a comment that those kids woke up the whole show. I wasn't playing steel back then. I hope to see you again as well. I will be at the Texas show.
See ya James

Thanks so much for all the kind words. We gave it one heck of a run. Some shows don't make it that long. I was proud to be a part of that show, and wish lots of luck to the person who is putting in the show for next year. You guys on the Forum really know how to humble a guy. Bless you all. See ya' around.
