I hope I can say this and have it come out right.
Pete is one of the finest and most honest people I know,,,,period. He always has the best equipment that's available and keeps it in imaculate shape.
However, Pete suffers from a common ailment that a lot of us steel players are plagued with, (me included), and I call it "the whimes".
I'll garentee you that this Rains guitar is in perfect condition as all of the other guitars he's had in the past. He's either heard of or seen another guitar and has a "whim" for it. I've seen him do it at least a dozen or more times. He'll probably do the same thing with whatever he replaces this guitar with (a Mullen I think) in a period of time.
You can take it to the bank that this guitar is in as good of shape, and probably even better, than it was the day it left the factory.
Somebody latch on to this one and I promise that you will be glad that you did.
Now Pete,,,if you'll hurry up and send me that $50 cause I'm broke and hungry. Laughing
Seriously,,,,this is one heck of a good deal.
BB

Without a doubt this is best sounding Rains that I played when I was a Rains dealer. I played it at a Gulfport show for about 45 minutes, took it to my office packaged it for shipping and sent it to Pete the following Monday. Some folks still talk about "that burgundy Rains". This particular guitar has the magic, so to speak. Hey Pete, BB.

Ditto what Bobby said about Pete. Been knowin Pete for a long time, great guy, and steel picker. Pete if I had the money, I'd buy your Burgandy Rains in a heartbeat!. Wonder if I could sell my Pro II or my Pre RP Mullen and rake up enough cash to buy your Rains? Just dreamin I reckon. Smile Hope your doing well Pete. Say, when do you think I might be able to run up to Camden and play that Rains? I just might be able to come up with the bucks, if'n I could get a mirical. Smile
