Well, believe it or not I just finished up restoring another lacquer push-pull! And, just like the last '74 teal lacquer Emmons I sold, the cabinet was stripped and refinished by my friend, SG Forumite Bob Littleton in Camas, Washington. Here is a link to his web site.
http://westcoaststeelguitar.com/products.html
I completely restored this Original (not a reissue) 1976 Emmons guitar S/N 2253D from top to bottom, it's the real deal and correct as it can be, right down to the proper slotted wood screws holding the brackets to the cabinet. The highly-figured birds eye maple cabinet was re flocked, aluminum professionally polished, necks jeweled, etc. and the fret boards are new Emmons Factory replacements. The original Kluson butterfly keys are in great condition, with hardly any backlash. Original legs are standard height. The fatback guitars from this era are some of the best sounding ones and this is no exception! It's a real "tone monster" and it plays like a dream.
Here are a few photos I just added that were taken in the direct sun, to try and show off the highly figured birdseye maple in the cabinet.
The ones below were taken last weekend on my deck in the shade.
At the moment, it has a very standard Emmons set up; 8x4 with E's on the left but I'll be happy to switch it to Day style at no extra charge. I'll also make changes to the existing copedent for free as long as you pay for any additional parts (if required). If you'd prefer to have more knee levers, I could certainly oblige by adding more of them (for an additional charge, of course). The original Emmons single coil pickups are wound to about 18K ohms and sound perfect to me. Included is a hard case in great condition and a new D2F leg bag.
$4200.00 plus shipping. PayPal (Please use the eCheck option, otherwise add 3%) or cashier's check accepted.
Please note: Shipping is not limited to the lower 48 only. I'm willing to ship this guitar internationally, so long as the buyer is willing to pay the freight, inside or outside the US.
Please email me with any questions. _________________ Best regards,

Gosh, thanks to everyone for the very nice comments!
Ron: Very nice of you to post that.
Jeff: Thanks, my friend. I really appreciate your kind words. Jeff already owns two on my Emmons PP guitars, so hearing from him means a lot to me
Don: Thanks so much...I wish I could hang on to this one for myself.
Kevin: Wow, coming from you, that comment means a lot to me, as I know that your work on ZB guitars and cases is fantastic. You may remember that I purchased a split case from you a few years ago, which I'm still using
Carl: Thanks so much. I get a lot of pleasure bringing years of life back into these great guitars.
Matt: Thanks for your comment. I replied to your email just a few minutes ago.
Billy: Thanks my friend! Billy and I are on the same page, when it come to doing things right and not compromizing on quality workmanship. He is one of the best, in my book!
Daniel: Thanks so much. You should have seen this guitar last night, under the stage lighting it looked fantastic!
On that last note, I just want to say that in my opinion, I think perhaps one of the best real tests of a guitar is how it performs on the bandstand. Another might be in the recording studio, but since I'm not that kind of player, I prefer to use the bandstand to give a guitar like this the "acid test". I used this guitar last night at a 4 hour gig and I was very impressed with it. It has huge Emmons PP tone, along with great sustain. It also stayed in tune perfectly all evening. Lots of complements along the way from folks made it such a pleasure for me to play. I think one of the best rewards for me, is to be able to play a guitar in public that I have completely restored and have it perform flawlessly _________________ Best regards,

Have no fear - treat it nicely I'd love a guitar like this, but right now the words "college tuition" come to mind _________________ --carl

If they ever make restoring Emmons pedal steels as an event in the Olympics, Lynn would take gold every time or at least till someone clubs him in the knee. LOL |

lynn, do you know how bob paints the black shading? does he use a fine spray nozzle? i've always liked that look about emmons lacquer application. i went the safe route on the purple steel, but would like to shade the next one.

Chris, I think Bob used an air brush to do it. He did a perfect, very authentic looking job. _________________ Best regards,

ps...your rebuilds are beautiful. lacquer emmons' are just the nicest thing...real 'steel guitar art' . just as pretty as sho-bud, zb, etc., but more compact and the best sound.
did anyone see the tonya harding sex video? |
