I didn't want my effects on the floor so I put a DFX9 and Phase 90 in one box with switches for hand operation.
Clamps to the leg.
Switches are true bypass.
Either or can be in and if both are in then they are in series delay into phaser.
I also added a depth knob to the Phase 90.

Ivan - I love it.
I have a boss pedal I like to use (PSM5) for a buffer. What kind of leg clamp did you use. I have been using a piece of velcro, and it's kind of a pain.

Hi Paul,
I made a clamp out of PVC pipe I had laying around:

Thanks. I forgot to reply. Rude of me.

That is a nice efficient way to do it.

Since I came out with the effects box on legs I have been looking for a good clip, actually a screw on bracket. I have used PVC pipe before but have a guy that wants enough room for a tuner and an effects - box about 12 x 12.

I have been wanting to ask ---- Does anyone know where I can get a good heavey duty screw on type clamp that will not mar the legs ??

Thanks

Here is the small effects box on legs (12 1/2 x 16 3/4 and wider one 12 1/2 x 23) for guys with lots of effects.

and the legs fold up like a steelseat.

Since introducing these I have had several guitar players want them for floor models too. Their comments were that they did not like buying the plastics ones about every 9 months.

Hey Joe, not sure how a clip would come into play with your effects table gizmo, but I've been using for years some On-Stage mic adaptors to hold webcams, my Zoom H2 recorder for lessons, etc. Here's a link to one version, but hunt around, they have many. The screw has a very thick silicone gel cover to keep it from marring the legs on my steel. Is that what you're after?

Thanks John I had been looking on the web but had not hit on that one yet. I assumed I would be midifying one someway.

I am trying a couple others too.

Might also be worth having a look at all those wonderful clamp assemblies that they use on electronic drum kit setups... ...just a thought..

Tommy Dodd's POD XT leg mounting assembly uses a clamp type that will handle more weight. Someone said that it used some type of drum clamp, although I haven't been able to find something similar.

Googling "Roland", "Alesis" & "Yamaha" in your searches of drum clamps could help.... lots of catalog stuff out there on the net, plus the Vdrums Forum.....

Anybody else use these broom clamps for steel effects? I got the idea from my Webb remote reverb control.

The box contains Dyna-Comp and Phase 90 boards, with homebrew circuits for switching (CMOS), preamp and power supply. I made it in 1980. It's held up pretty well, except for the paint (I neglected to use primer). I haven't noticed any scratching on the leg from the clamps.

That's awesome Bruce.
How did you do the lettering?
decals?
(if you remember that far back)

Ivan, it is rub-on dry-transfer lettering that I bought in the stationery aisle at the drugstore. They happened to have a script typeface similar to the one MXR used on the original enclosures. I believe I sprayed some kind of clear coating over the lettering, probably polyurethane.

I like your idea of adding a depth control to your Phase 90. A mod I would like to try someday is to replace the speed pot with a dual ganged control with pull switch. It would act as a normal speed control when pushed in, and when pulled out, the auto sweep would be disabled, and the pot would sweep the comb filter manually, so it could be adjusted to a desired tone and left there. But I don't know if a dual pot would fit in the enclosure. I haven't opened it in many years but I remember it was pretty tight inside there. Also I haven't looked at the P-90 circuit. I'm just assuming the sweep is controlled by some kind of sine or triangle waveform that could be replaced with a variable DC voltage from a pot. I could be way off.

Very cool.
Yeah the script looks right on for the MXR.
I'll have to check out the stationary store.

I like your idea for the fixed filter knob.

The depth control on mine is really just variable resistor in the regen/feedback circuit.
