Yes it is true, the Sho Bud guru is taking the big leap. He is looking for the secret hand shake and pass word, pin and hat, but I told him not until the cash has exchanged hands.

I can now no longer insullllt him, baaaaagger him, shammmme him, poke fun at his manhood (oh wait that is another story) well you get the picture.

Congrats Bob, the hat is in the mail.

Josh Gibson, you are next, get ready.

The ONLY thing to do is get a Push Pull and get it out of your system. I have 5 guitars and the one that draws the most repect at steel guitar shows is my black 1971 push pull.

No need to Dave he one ready to go, just show up. To encourage PP players to come over he bought one just for us. Now that is a real friend. Someone on the forum put up a post about paying for your next guitar, Bob did one better, he spent the money. Thanks Bob, you may have to buy a big club to keep the PP players from fighting over who gets to play it.

Life is good.

At last, now I will only get respect and praise from Larry. I'm still waiting for the secret password to the conclave, I'm sure it will be arriving with my membership package, I am now living by the mailbox anxiously awaiting it's arrival!!

Ray, you must attend a jam to find out the truth to these rumors, top of the stairs and turn right just in case you forgot. Oh Well

Shocked

Yes Dave, all Emmons guitars are welcome to attend the jam, as long as they are not covered in fake wood grain!! Very Happy Smile Smile

The PP sound is great, but try raising a string with a pedal, and lowering at the same time with a knee lever.

Keith, I'm still trying to figure out how to hear the sound of the guitar over the clanking of the pedals, got any hints??

Just turn up your amp, it will mask that noise and will you will get a great sound too. Wow what could be better?

Years ago I figured out why the PP sounded so much better. On those slow Ray Price songs the steel needs to sound like a wheel bearing going out on a freight train car. The night is dark, it is raining, and you can hear this wheel bearing going out on this train wheel. The sound is coming from miles away in the dark still night. The PP makes this sound better than any steel. OK, for those of you who don't understand this, take the Ray Price song, "I Just Destroyed The Van I've Been Living In". This song would have never been a hit for Ray, without the PP sounding like the wheel bearing going out on a freight train. Laughing

Keith, I think you're onto something here, I will try playing some Ray Price songs and see what happens. If all else fails I can still use my Sho-Buds for the other songs, or maybe the ZB. Smile

My friend, Bob is now the proud owner of the teal lacquer Emmons PP that I recently had posted for sale.

I must tell you that he has a very nice collection of high quality guitars!

That's a real beauty, Lynn, it should look great next to Eric's "butter knife" guitar, now sporting a blue and blonde remake!

I've always understood that unless the Emmons was a BLACK Mica job, it wasn't worth much....... can that be true?

That is a beautiful guitar and the luster of that color is fabulous!

Does that BLUE color affect in any way, the TONE quality?

Ray, you know there are no Mica guitars allowed in my collection, lacquer finish is the only way! Strangely I believe your Emmons is a similar color if I remember right? I will just have to struggle along with this one as is. It's actually more of a teal color than blue, the camera seems to change the color in the daylight.

I thought he would end up buying that guitar. We had a good time examining it and listening to Bob and Lynn playing it a couple of weeks ago. A truly great sounding instrument. Congratulations Bob! (and Lynn!).

Well...I finally understand why They refer to it as a push-pull, When Fedex & Ups both refuse to ship it home for You, You end up"Pushing"it down several LONG flippin' hallway's and onto two different airplanes all the while the airline personel are giving You NOTHING but grief...EVEN after You,ve gone through all the blasted channels They,ve told You to(to the tune of $360.00 bucks for an ADDITIONAL adult seat!!!), And THEN when They tell You"Oh, well that can't be in here(despite the fact that We spoke to United Corp. DIRECTLY! and they said no problem Mad)You end up"PULLING"Your back out trying to lift the dang thing into the OVERHEAD COMPARTMENT!!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad), I have had a LONG day!#$@^&$E%#$@$,
