Well let me be the first to say, WOW! What a weekend! Either I had that much fun or this was the best show we have had yet, or both. Great Players, great venue.
Big thanks to Bill Cook for working so hard to put this show together.

Was a real treat to shake the hand of our newest inductee into our hall of fame, Big Jim Vest. And congrats to Don Lynch.

And the Friday night jam was just totally cool. Cool
kinda felt like a dream for a while, there i was on stage sandwiched between Tommy Dodd and Mike Johnson.

Thanks to Bill Cunningham, Mike taylor and Jim Hartley for backing me up and making me sound so good. Very Happy

I hope somebody got a video of the jam last night, if so email me and let me know i would like to have a copy.

Already looking forward to next year.

Jeremy..

I was thinking the same thing.. I believe it was the best show yet. Great venue and a great crowd for both shows. It was a great pleasure to see JimVest and Don Lynch inducted into the ASGA Hall of Fame - a well deserved honor for both. Thanks to Bill Cook, Ricky Cottle and all the Alabama Gang for a great weekend of steel guitar.

Great job on your set too brother..

Thanks too to the Georgia boys -- Tommy Dodd and Bill Cunningham for being a part of this event.

Hopefully we'll see some pictures from the show shortly.

And of course, need to thank my neighbor Billy Rader and his family for having me on their set.

Let me add on my comments that this was a great show. Just sorry we had to leave early for a Saturday night gig back in Atlanta. Bill Cook and the whole gang did a fine job putting on the show.
Hearing Mike Johnson again was the icing on the cake!

I want to especially thank Billy Radar, Mike Taylor, and my buddy Jim Hartley for pulling my set through!

That Mike Taylor...First he plays great steel on Friday night, then he's on lead guitar and THEN on bass.

Jeremy, I will be happy to work with you any time, especially when you keep adding more back neck to the set! Also it's always big fun getting to pick with Tommy. He keeps throwing tunes that make me broaden my horizons! Who'da thunk I'd be playing "Billie Jean" Sad Laughing

I was really happy to get to meet 4 or 5 people who have been coming to the Hiawassee shows for years. One fellow said he used to come back in the day when my dad and the guys played outside at the old school and even remembered when I first started to play steel as a teenager!

I hope you Alabama boys will allow me to be a part of it again next year!

I can only echo the thoughts already expressed--I too thought it was the best Alabama Steel Show I had been to and am glad to see it was the same opinion of others.
To be there as Big Jim Vest and Don Lynch were inducted into the Alabama Steel Guitar Hall of Fame was a thrill--two talented and deserving individuals!!
Thanks to all the players who allowed me the honor of sharing the stage with you! Always a pleasure to sing with talent like that. Thanks to the Georgia boys, Tommy Dodd and Bill Cunningham; also Don Lynch and of course the fantastic Mike Johnson and Joanie, as well as the one and only--Lynn Owsley!! Thanks to the multi talented Billy Rader for his musical abilities as well as keeping things going with his MC work and what a pleasure to meet his family members. (Hello Wayne! Great job y'all did singing)
So good to be with special friends Cletus and Sherry Hopkins, Linda Bailey and drummer man--Jim Hartley!
Okay--know I'm leaving some out, but just can't remember everyone right now. Yes, the main person---Mr. Bill Cook!!! Thanks for all the hard work and money you put into making this show what it is!!!!! And you too Ricky! WE THANK YOU!!!!!

Bill..

Thanks for the kind words! Thanks to you for playing bass on my set; not only does Bill play fine steel, he's a top hand on the bass as well.
This weekend of steel guitar was a great one!! Being able to play with and hear the great talent at this show was a special treat for me. I would like to get a copy of the DVD that Cletus made over the two days.

Mike
Always a treat to visit with and hear you and Joanie. We all appreciate your support to the Alabama Steel Guitar Association. While it's always a little nerve wracking to play steel with you in the room, you always have an encouraging word for us week-end pluggers. Looking forward to your new CD, heading now to your website and order it..
