gang -
i'm working on an ipad holder that attaches to the front left leg of a steel, and holds an ipad. the base of the ipad would rest against the high-string tuners.
if you're familiar with bradshaw's tab rack, it would be a modified version of one of the tab rack supports, modified to hold the ipad at a comfortable angle, without blocking as much of your view (and an audience's view of you, when performing) as a tab rack.
i started thinking about this because i have maybe 450+ tunes in onSong (which allows easy transposing, click track, and auto-scrolling lyrics), and a ton of .pdf charts in goodreader (fantastic app).
i'm taking a little poll, which may affect how many i plan on building. if you're interested, please reply here.
thanks!

I envision a day when everybody in the band will have an iPad networked to a server with charts, or the written score, for every song in the world, and when they need one, bam, it pops up. Imagine a symphony orchestra with iPads instead of reams of paper that they have to shuffle through to find the next fugue. Tim Cook should be working on that. _________________ C#

I'd be interested in an iPad holder on the guitar. I would suggest a simple frame for the pad rather than a shelf. |

I would use one. I have one now that uses a mic stand . The shelf doesn't work for me either though. Not secure enough. Needs to clamp in. Adjustable angle is important also.
Btw: Cal, I've been sending charts and lyrics across the stage to other players during shows already. It's amazing how well it works. _________________ Bob |

I'm currently using a photography tripod with a projector stand on top as a shelf. I put two of the legs over the pedal bar with one sticking out and adjusted in height to be level with the guitar and have a laptop on it. I do have a pad that I would use,but is too unstable to sit on a flat surface where you can see it.
Bottom line is that I would be interested in one as you have pictured above. _________________ Justice The Judge SD-10, 2007
