With a very heavy heart, this is one of the hardest postings, I have ever done. I have just received word from Cleat's son, Danny. That Cleat has gone home to be with the Lord. Cleat died at 4:50 PM today at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. After being airlifted there yesterday. Please continue to lift Danny and his family in prayer, at this time. I will have a posting with arrangements, later. They will be handled by Green Oaks Funeral Home, in Baton Rouge.

Clete was a good man, a dear friend, a fine and soulful songwriter and guitarist. I will always remember his generosity in coming out to California at his own expense to play at a benefit concert.

Here is a link to Clete’s Bio on his website:

and my favourite Clete Wooley “Easy”

It was a privilege to play music with him at jams at my house, rehearsals, and on the bandstand. He was a prolific songwriter and was really getting popular in his neck of the woods.

I am honoured to consider him a friend, will miss him, and very luck to be touched by his music.

Sincerely,
Tom “Slim” Lattimer

I enjoyed working with him, for the last three years. On the sessions I did with him. Looking back at the last one, was a LULU. It took us six hours to do one song. But never the less, we got it done.

i will miss cleat's commentary on the forum and miss the enjoyment that he has of his fellow man and the songwriting and recording progress that he was determined to connect an audience with.
i had talked with him several times via fone, communicated by e-mail and i saw him briefly from a distance, atanding beside his beloved muscle car at a dar show in walker, louisiana, but had never met him face to face, though "i was going to".
another lesson learned....live life to the fullest, say your prayers and don't put it off!
r.i.p. my friend....it was good to know you.
no, ....it was great!

I haven't heard any arrangements as today. I spoke to his son, Danny last night. He is looking for the papers, and other documents. Leo. Danny is going to let me know when they get everything set. Cleat and I were going back again, to record in another month. God had other plans, for our brother.

I really did't know Cleat personally but knew his name and saw some of his posts, but was sad to learn of his passing at a relatively young age. Rest in peace and my condolences to the family. Thanks for the call Tommy.

I didn't know Cleat but I always came away with a smile from reading his posts, which I always did. He was always upbeat, positive and enjoyed the forum.

I will greatly miss my ritual of reading Cleat's threads. As I said, I didn't know him but I will always remember him.

My sympathy and condolences go out to Cleat's family and friends.
