Was the advent of televised broadcast that they went from live to recorded and now back to live? Is it all live now? Did it have anything to do with the advent of multi track recording? Some programs I watch it is hard to tell.
Thanks

Most TV performances are to tracks with the vocalist singing live and the band miming the parts.

Les Paul is credited for making and inventing the first multi track recordings......
