I stopped by a year or so ago. Parking lot was full with some really nice cars (don't recall any trucks), but I don't think there is any Country Music happening there these days. When I saw the clientele I figured that it was probably not my kind of music, too many fancy dressers. Obviously a well-heeled group but probably favoring jazz, blues, soul and rap. I just went on down the road. Unless it was some special function, I suspect that business has been much better with the change in style.

yeah, I used to play there, and then it used to be a Ramada Inn and then it changed, noticed an empty parking lot for a few times so I was wondering, shame, it was a very nice place to play, and they had a songwriters room in the back as well...too bad

Used to make frequent trips over there to Trinity Lane while in Nashville for the Opry and Lower Broad. The Spoke and Gabe's were 2 of my favorite places to hear some first class music. Last time I was there was a while ago. I think that was before Sonny Purdum became ill and Big Jim Murphy was still honkin' on sax and steel at Gabe's.

Damir, in today's Tennessean (Sunday), there is an article about the new ABC-TV night-time soap "Nashville." It says that they have been shooting scenes around town and specifically mentioned the Spoke, even have a picture of the stage. I guess they did most of the location shots after hours or just rented the venue. Maybe there is some Country going on at the Spoke after all.
