Topic: Country Ballad Style |

Please allow me to pick your guys brains. What style(s)do you use for standard country ballads like "Green Green Grass of Home", "Today I Started Loving You Again" type songs. I find it hard to find a simple style that has a regular 1,2,1,2 bass line. I can do a hybrid style, but maybe I'm missing something here and you guys have the solution. Maybe some of you have created a style that you'd be willing to share?
Any help is appreciated.

For "Today I Started", you might try *=Georg_FGF which has real guitar, drums and finger picking guitar along with fiddle. I mute the fiddle tho'.

Thanks! I looked at that one too. I'd really like to have a style with piano rhythms. The songs are originals, but standard country ballad type, like the ones I mentioned. |

| I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered the new 2012.5 edition of BIAB. There are a bunch of new country styles included and, if I'm not mistaken, some are ballads along with western swing. |

Try the -ZZOLCTY.STY (Old Country 12/8 feel), and mute all except Bass, Drums and Piano

Bryant, I would look at the matrix on the pgmusic.com website and determine, based on what you already have, and want to get, to answer that question. If you don't have Over 160 RealTracks instruments in 36 bands and RealDrums Sets 1-6 and MIDI Styles Sets 0-77: All MIDI Styles Sets, over 1500 MIDI styles total, but want them, then of course this would be a good choice.
In BIAB, you can go to Help, What add-on's do I Have? and it will tell you what you already have, you will just have to compare this with the version matrix on the website to make your determination.
Keep in mind that the annual update (BIAB2013) is normally released during the month of December and everything will be at sale price then.
Roger, the same answer really applies to you as well as far as what you have vs what you want. As far as only the BIAB program itself, BIAB 2008 is probably fine.
