Here's a gift from me to the steel guitar community. I hope it helps you keep your beloved instrument in tip top shape. Feel free to share this with anyone you choose.

But, that IS how I clean my lacquer finish Fessenden. Am I doing something wrong? Could this be why it's all rusty underneath and there's mildew under the finish?

Well, it ain't as good as my system of running thru the car wash with it. The plus is you get your clothes washed, too.

Outstanding!

One question, were you at all tempted to leave the second part of the video over till, say, next week? I know I would have been...

Really funny...
Regards, Allan.....

This method of cleaning a pedal steel guitar is not very effective.
Sandblasting is the only way to go.

The story about Ralph Mooney doing that with his Fender is true. The singer I work with saw it - said he went to Moon's house, in California, one morning and there was Moon with a hose washing off his guitar. Moon told him somone had barfed on it the night before.

Its a bit late now, but you should turn off comments for the video. I happened to read a comment that said it was a joke before it got to the good stuff and it ruined the punchline.

Still an amazing video though, and a great laugh. Way to go the extra mile to make someone smile.
