David Munson posted on this thread about them and his forum sig indicates that too but I don't know if he still builds them. I guess he can tell us.

I too would love to find someone manufacturing a midi pickup for steel. I was an early adopter of the IVL Steelrider product and used it for sessions and live gigs for many years. I still have it but use it very sparingly now because of fear of it breaking (the wires coming from the pickup to the preamps are extremely fine and are fragile from age). The multitude of instruments you can emulate with a steel/midi controller is mind blowing! Who knows, with it we might become as important to a band as a keyboard player.

Back in the 80's I went whole hog into midi and used a guitorchestra...not sure who made it. but yea Tommy I loved in the studio and on the bandstand. I have since got away from midi up till a couple of years ago. Midi generation has taken huge steps in advancing the sounds that are possible. my only worry with the older units would be latency issues which is why I am curious about an up to date system. Thanks for the link I'll check it out.
