A little embarrassed to ask this, but can someone please tell me what Dugmore is doing on the Ain't Nothing 'Bout You intro? Is he on the same fret or he changing and which strings and pedals is he changing. I know it's SO SIMPLE, I just can't figure it out! Thanks!

Hey there Evan. Cant remember the key they are in but I am pretty sure that he is on B and C pedals rocking onto a grip say 5 and 6. Than he rocks off them while picking strings 4 and 5. It is a minor lick

Sorry I didnt answer youre question. I beleive that he is on the same fret for the whole 2 bar intro until he slides to the 5 minor chord. I'll check it tomorrow and try to put up a tab for you.

Cool. I appreciate it! Now, again new player, could I have played that A minor anywhere else or can the sound he created only be replicated in that one spot? Also, maybe more theory here, but using the C pedal, I'm creating an A# note correct? How is that "OK" since the song was in C? Again, I've asked a lot here, so it's too much, no problem. Either way, I appreciate you posting. Thanks!

Sorry I meant to say the lick is at the 15 th fret.
With the B and C pedals down at eh 15 fret you get an A minor chord.
You can replicate that sound anywhere on the neck if you can find the same notes that are going on but you probablyu wont get the same feel as using the B and C pedals, these are unique and intriging and I hear alot of people shy away from using them but with experimentaion these pedals can create some of the prettiest licks that E9 has to offer. If you are still stuck on pedals than I suggest getting into the Jeff Newman beginner lessons. It is worth every dollar spent.
The song is in the key of A minor and here are all of the chords to the song,

AIN’T NOTHING ‘BOUT YOU --- Brooks And Dunn

Into: Am, F, C, G

Am E7 F
ONCE I THOUGHT THAT LOVE WAS SOMETHING I COULD NEVER DO
C G Am
NEVER KNEW THAT I COULD FEEL THIS MUCH
Am E7 F
BUT THIS YEARNING IN THE DEEP PART OF MY HEART FOR YOU
C G F
IS MORE THAN A REACTION TO YOUR TOUCH
G F E7
IT’S A PERFECT PASSION AND I CAN’T GET ENOUGH
Am F C G
THE WAY YOU LOOK THE WAY U LAUGH THE WAY U LV W/ ALL U HAVE
Am F C G
THERE AIN’T NOTHIN ‘BOUT YOU THAT DON’T DO SOMETHING FOR ME
Am F C G
THE WAY YOU KISS THE WAY U CRY T/WAY U MOVE WHEN YOU WALK BY
Am F C G
THERE AIN’T NOTHIN ‘BOUT YOU THAT DON’T DO SOMETHING FOR ME

Am E7 F
IN MY LIFE I’VE BEEN HAMMERED BY SOME HEAVY BLOWS
C G Am
THAT NEVER KNOCKED ME OFF MY FEET
Am E7 F
ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS SMILE AT ME AND DOWN I GO
C G F
AND BABY, IT’S NO MYSTERY
G F E7
WHY I SURRENDER GIRL, YOU GOT EVERYTHING

REPEAT CHORUS

Bb F
I LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE, YOUR ROSE TATTOO, YOUR EVERY THOUGHT
Bb E7 Am
YOUR SMILE, YOUR LIPS, AND GIRL THE LIST GOES ON & ON & ON

REPEAT CHORUS
