I was surprised to hear such a mighty fine SINGER!

He can sure out sing that current Nashville crowd of look-alikes in their cowboy hats and torn T-shirts.

Thanx for sharing.

I agree Carson. I've listened to that on You and played along with it about a million times. It's a really well done video as well.

The steel player on the song is definitely Paul Franklin. I've played along with it almost every time it comes on the radio

Yeah, I think that's Mr. Franklin. It's sweet steel tone and playing for sure.

Billy C. has had a bunch of good songs. Good melodic stuff that highlights the pedal steel. 'Course there's the party stuff too.

Our little group does 3 or 4 of his tunes. Good at Drinkin' Beer is a fun little number and Let Me Down Easy has some tricky and ear-catching Paul Franklin too.

Don't Forget "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right", where Paul makes the steel cry in the solo!

Great song as well, his voice reminds me a little bit of Keith Whitley.

Kind Regards, Walter

Billy definitely has good stuff on his albums, most of it full of great steel guitar by Paul, I think we have about every album he has done, another good one is called Like My Dog, if you own a dog you can relate to it.
I read where a producer liked the LW so well in the studio that he told Paul he wish he could go back and rerecord all of Pauls stuf with it

The one and only Paul Franklin: great ideas, great tone, great touch.

Thanks for the post.

Is this song a big hit? It oughta be.

It was out about 4 years ago. Things travel slow around here.

Yes, and 4 years ago it was a #1 hit. I think that is what Thereasa meant. She knows her music Wink

Wasn't really referring to Theresa. Just slight amazement of how much top 40 country some folks listen to, that they just now discovered a number #1 from almost 4 years ago. If you guys want another shock, it was co-written by the same guy, Bobby Braddock, that wrote or co-wrote "He Stopped Loving Her Today", "Golden Ring", "D-I-V-O-R-C-E", "Texas Tornado", "We're Not The Jet Set", "Old Flames Have New Names", and about 5 or 6 other #1 hits.

I know what you mean, I think that some people get discouraged with modern country top 40 radio stations. Especially people who prefer the older generation of country, and they don't immediately acknowledge really good songs when they are played. For me, there are some tunes that grow on you over time. I liked this song immediately, I like Billy's laid back style.

I don't know when it came out but it was still getting quite a bit of play on Sirius' ' The Highway ' channel as recently as a few months ago.

It's hard to believe it was 4 years ago. Bobby also wrote Toby Keith's "Let's Talk About Me"....

Well... Bill Anderson wrote for people like Brad Paisley, Lorrie Morgan, Vince Gill, and John Micheal Montgomery and he's been wrting since a nickel was worth a dollar!

Typically impeccable Paul Franklin, but never typical!

Listening to this on phones the other day, I noticed there is a second steel track, playing pads almost all the way thru. Right in tune, as always.

Our band has been playing this song since it came out. I love it. Our guitar player and I do the intro and break in harmony. The audiences seem to like it.
