I am really getting into my Square Neck ... learning tunes, getting the hang of the techniques etc. ... tuned in open G ... I can sit down for a few minutes, run through the tunes I've learned and easily start finding inspiration for more tunes that come to mind ...
I am more slowly approaching Lap Steel in C6 tuning ... any suggestions on some things I can do to accelerate my Lap Steel learning curve? I don't think I really need books but maybe some suggestions on some songs to try to learn etc. Something I can dive into that will help push me more into it ... what did some of you guys do that was fun and beneficial at the same time when you were getting started on Lap Steel? Thanks. _________________ -- Rick

What type of songs would you like to learn on C6th tuning? That's really the deciding factor here. Start with a simple song, whatever you consider to be a simple song, and learn to play the melody. Then start on a different string and learn to play the same melody. Then change the key to some different key and learn to play the melody.
I like your audio file you linked, but that's not on a dobro, is it? _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
