I was wondering how many have this. I am only 38 years old but my right hand starts to hurt after not playing that long. It's a real pain, no pun intended. I wonder how many professional player have this and how do they deal with it. And how can they play an entire gig?

The left hand should guide the Steel Bar over and up and down the strings with only enough pressure to get a good tone. You are probably holding the Steel Bar too tightly and it is cramping your hand !

Does your left wrist make either a hump or a dip where it transitions from arm to hand?
Bad back-of-guitar height causes that in just half an hour of playing.
