That is one nice score there Billy!!!! I played it for a couple of hours and loved it. I know Tom loved it too. There should be a quarter slot on the endplate I think. Just drop a quarter in it and it will play "I Sang Dixie" all by itself!!! LOL
Congrats my man!!!

What do you have to do to get it to play "Before I Go"?
Man, black never looked better. A beautiful piece. |

Chuck, this was Tom's favorite guitar. I did some work on it a few years ago and then Billy added helper springs and ball bearing nut rollers to the guitar. I think he went through the whole thing and even polished all the castings, did a wonderful job!! Tom was going to use this guitar in Texas at his new show before he passed, he was that pleased with it. I think thats right, Billy can chime in here and set me straight. I use the same set-up on my 11 stringers and my D-10's.
1st pedal---7th string F# to G#
10th string B to C#
then A,B,C pedals.
LKL in, E's to F
LKL out 4th string E to F#
LKV G#'s to G
LKR E's to Eb
RKL B's to Bb
RKR in, D# to D
RKR out F#'s to G
Its a great set-up and Tom got alot of music out of it.

Greg is correct on the coped. He and I both did work on this guitar, it plays and sounds great, but I don't sound exactly like Tom yet, guess that will come later. |

Billy, I am guessing somewhere between 81' and 83'. Tom sold the company in 85'. I know the serial number on that one makes no sense at all to me. I dont even know if there would be an invoice record for that guitar since it was built special for Tom. Rolene has several pictures of Tom playing the guitar, some are posted on Facebook, and she may have some dates when the pics were taken.

Billy Knowles did some adjustments to my horn the other day. Additionally he re covered the top of my steel seat. It now feels wonderful.
Billy Knowles is great when it comes to working on Steel Guitars. Billy's shop is a 6 hours round trip for me but well worth the effort.
