I was watching some YouTube videos of Mike Johnson, and I was blown away and moved by some of the ballads that he played on, too. He is such an awesome player.

The man is a great talent, for sure. I enjoy the Family Reunion youtube clips. Mike always plays exactly what needs to be played, and with a lot of heart.

Mike is, in my mind, the absolute example of super talent combined with all the qualities that make you want to be in his presence--such a player and friend to those who know him. What a blessing to call him friend!!

Mike is awsome to listen to.
I especially love this break he does in the Opry family reunion DVD for Ronda Vincent.

I've yet to see him live, but from the videos , he's a lot of fun to watch, has some prescence. Most of us are pretty stone faced. Neutral

I had the pleasure of listening to his fine playing for several hours while visiting Nashville following the St.Louis Show....... It was at the Sho-Pro Customer Appreciation luncheon just outside Nashville in a small room with great musicians.

A real joy to hear as he NEVER played 'too much'.
What he did play was exceptionally tastey.

Daniel, I have been lucky enough to see Mike at several of the Dallas shows. He is super nice and easy to talk to. He makes you feel like you have been life long friends. Always takes the time to answer your questions, show you a lick, just a really nice guy. His wife Joanie is just like Mike. Easy to talk to, always smiling, she too is a really nice lady. Smile Smile

Mike is one of my heroes-I had an opportunity to meet him and Joanie when I played a steel guitar show in Nashville for the first time-his playin' is incredible! His steel playin' can be heard on records by artists like Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, and many other artists...I'm so glad that Mike and Joanie are great friends of mine.
